Tiny photovoltaic cells.

Scientists at Sandia National Laboratories have developed a micro-sized photovoltaic cell―so small that it is measured in micrometers and millimeters―that might revolutionize the way solar energy is generated. In one possible application, the cells can be embedded into clothing, such as a military uniform, and generate power to operate electronic gear while the soldier walks in sunshine. (Posted Jan. 28)
